The
Presidents Bush
Hello The Bush! How’s it going?
Well howdy! It’s going great, thank you for asking.
What’s happening in the land of Bushy things?
Right now we’re doing the only thing that we’re good at – playing rock ‘n roll, partying and picking clovers.
How long have you guys been a rock ‘n roll force?
It’s been about 4 years since The Bush was born.
What have been the high lights of The Presidents Bush so far?
The bits that stick out would have to be: performing with After the Fall, Kid Courageous and The Red Paintings, recording, hearing our songs on the radio for the first time and being lucky enough to share the stage with some fantastic bands on the Gold Coast.
Have you encountered any Pro-President Bush resistance to your funny band name?
It’s funny you should say that, when anyone asks us about the name, they always refer to “that guy” but we usually just say it’s not political, it’s pubical… And besides, it’s better to have a silly band name so you don’t take yourselves too seriously – if the music is good, then names don’t mean a thing.
Who can drink that most beers out of the three dudes in your band?
That would be Dan; he drinks before, during and after the show.
Do you like pies?
Of course, the pie should be the corner-stone of any nutritious meal.
Who can eat the most amount of pies?
That would be Shane, our drummer and resident chef.
Your new EP “Gung-Ho!” is very cool. I really like ‘Crook’. How long did it take you to make this EP, where and who did you make it with?
Thank you. It took about a month to finish the EP; we recorded it with Dave Aurora at Ekko Records in Ashmore on the Gold Coast. Dave’s a great guy; he put up with our antics and makes a mean coffee.
Do you have any plans for a debut Presidents Bush album?
At this stage we really want to focus on getting this EP out to the ears of the world but a Bush album is definitely on the cards somewhere down the track.
Where can we see you guys play live soon?
In October we’re playing the Basement and Ric’s Bar in Brisbane and the Cooly Hotel on the Gold Coast.
