Introducing the next generation of outcast artist: uncompromising, innovative, emotionally charged and just the right side of eccentric. Alternative Pop-Folk music and Australian musician-producer-engineer Luke Reichelt is the best-kept secret in the Gold Coast independent music community. With both a live and recording career spanning over a decade, his working credits and collaborations are impressive featuring members of Wolfmother, Operator Please, Jane VS World and more.

02Describing his art as 'books on tape' Reichelt is every bit the storyteller and creative visionary—his latest 12-track disc Books On Tape testament to his understated yet abundant talent and desire to push the boundaries of personal expression and exploration further.

Unfolding like a children's pop-up book that explores the darker side of emotion, the album tracks jump off the disc and tug at the heart strings telling a melodramatic tale of relationship struggles. Performed live with five piece alternative folk rock band (Guy Cooper, Sammy Griffin Dave Dumsday and Perry Clegg), the agony and ecstasy of the thing we call love is captured masterfully yet simply; complex thoughts articulated effortlessly and honestly. Brisbane entertainment magazine Rave declared it “brimming with understated musical goodness”.

Having played countless shows around Brisbane and the Gold Coast along with a national east coast of Australia tour at the start of this year Reichelt’s live show is nothing short of amazing, captivating audiences with intelligent lyrics and unique alternative folk-pop sounds.

emWith the new album in the works slated to drop in 2011 Reichelt looks set to be anything but ignored for his quirky music. He has received critical acclaim in the international arena winning an L.A Music Award for Best Power Pop Single as well as receiving an honorable mention in the Billboard International Songwriting Competition and a record deal in Australia and Japan. Reichelt brings a D.I.Y spirit and emotional vulnerability to a music landscape that seems currently on a trajectory of self-obsessed indulgence, materialism and guarded expression. Reichelt evades all the musical tragedies or clichés.

Reichelt will be on tour in Australia in August 2011 with the new album and throughout Japan in September 2011.

'Snakes & No Ladders' Street Press Review

Local lad makes good
Luke Reichelt is a Brisbane based musician and producer. After working with bands such as Severed Link and Operator Please he decided it was time to implant his own music in the ears of the world. Inspired by this newfound confidence, he stole an accordion from the streets of Paris by way of a bread stick and swift kick to the head. He brought the accordion home – and with his acoustic guitar and distorted bass – he gave that thing some street cred. Snakes & No Ladders delivers 13 tracks that sway between gentle, upbeat and haunting. Each track is endearing and almost all clock in under the three minute mark – proving you can like still enjoy music with a limited attention span. Guests on the album include members of A Secret Death, Jane VS World and Wolfmother. Snakes & No Ladders is an album brimming with understated musical goodness. Give this good thing a listen, with the volume nice and loud on Grab It and We Used To Be Friends.
